Kissing "Shelf Sitter" Salt & Pepper Shakers

Charming set of 1950's American salt and pepper shakers in the design of a boy and girl kissing. They are often referred to as "shelf sitters" due to the sitting style which makes them perfect for decorating a shelf in your kitchen or even in a child's room as decoration. They each measure approximately 4 inches or 10 CM high.
 
They were made in Japan for the American market after WW2 as were many now highly collectable novelty items and they retain thier "Japan" label on the base. The holes for filling with salt and pepper have the original cork stoppers. The colours are very bright and pretty and the set is in excellent condition.
