Floral Bouquet Barbola Plaque

Beautiful barbola wall plaque with a sumptuous and colourful floral bouquet displayed in a vase. The background is a stone/cream colour and has a gently textured effect. The plaque has a simple but decorative undulant design around the edge and it measures 30 cm across.

Barbola work was sometimes used to decorate items as a hobby but it was also produced commercially. Artists were hired to model and paint the flowers. Often times they signed their work as is the case with this plaque. The signature is E. Bond.
 
Beside being simply lovely to look at, these are genuine works of art and are becoming increasingly rare.
