Innovative 1924 Exhibition Mirror

Fascinating little brass mirror from the British Empire Exhibition in 1924. It is 9 cms (just over 3 inches) long so was probably for carrying in a purse. What makes this little mirror quite ingenious is that you can see your whole head/face in it despite it's size and despite holding it relatively close.  It is as though it makes you appear farther away than you actually are. If you are a lady about town in the 1920's and want to see how your hair and hat are looking, you can see the entire scene in your tiny mirror!
