1852 French Gilt Book

Exquisitely decorative antique French book titled "Ecole Des Moeurs" from 1852. The cover has been engraved and embellished with elegant white and opulent gilding .  the cover has a cener medallion with an illustration of a king speaking to men.

The frontispiece has a steel engraved image. There is a loose note inside the cover, most likely an inscription beautifully handwritten.

The spine is in excellent condition. This book is 168 years old but is in such remarkable condition. It has some very minor staining to a few pages and is otherwise without damage. It is 7.3 by 4 3/4 inches.
