1930's Floral Chest of Drawers

Exquisite chest of drawers dating to the 1930's. It has a beautiful warm creamy yellow background colour and is decorated with the most sublime hand painted Roses, Morning Glories, Delphinium, Passion Flowers, sprays of pretty grasses and more. These painted florals are all original to the piece of furniture and were obviously done by a very skilled artist.  Having this in your home is comparable to having a beautiful antique oil painting only you have the added benefit of the charming (and useful) piece of furniture.
 
The chest also has a wonderfully decorative crackle finish though it is mostly . The top of the chest does show wear with some marks and fading of the background colour however the painted florals remain in beautiful condition and the wear simply adds to authenticity of the piece.
 
Each of the the four drawers have circular drop handles which are tarnished. They can be polished if you prefer or left as they are. the top and bottom edge of the chest have a narrow band of "duck egg" colour. The legs are short cabriole style and they are also decorated with painted delicate pink roses.
 
The drawers have dovetail joints and have been built by hand. It measures 29.1 inches wide (74 cm), 17 inches deep (43 cm) and 30 inches high (76 cm).
 
This is a lovely match for any or all of the bedroom pieces of 1930's painted furniture.
