1950's Wedding Cake Topper
Adorable vintage wedding cake topper dating to the 1950's. It measures approximately 8.5 inches high by 4.2 inches wide at the widest point. It is made of plastic and has an ornate filigree style base.
The "bride and groom" stand beneath an alter which is bordered in raised "dots" and trimmed and backed in net ruffle. The net at the back of the "altar" is decorated with sprigs of artificial greenery and a little bell at the top.
The bride has a "pearlised" dress and a piece of lace fabric for a veil.
The net could be "spruced" up with fresh sprigs of greenery and tiny flowers. If you wanted to get a bit creative you could even replace it with your own pretty fabric or lace.
There are 2 small missing pieces of the filigree base and the altar has yellowed with age.
This is quite a rare find as many of these are passed down in families or did not survive the passing years!
