19th C French Wicker Sewing Basket

19th Century French sewing basket, beautifully hand made. It is free standing with two storage sections. Each section has a wooden floor and lid. The lids are covered in very pretty French floral fabric which is now faded.

The height is 32 inches (81 cms) to the top of the handles.  It is approximately 18 inces across (45 cms) and 13.5 inches deep at the widest point of the "splayed" feet. The wicker baskets and handles have red and blue designs woven into it.

The overall condition of this beautiful antique sewing basket is very good. It has a couple loose pieces of wicker around the handles and the wicker "binding" around the front left foot is mostly gone. There is a very occasional wood worm hole but they are old- there is no new or recent activity. The lids are hinged and work perfectly. The storage sections are sound and the stand is strong.
