Raphael Tuck Nativity Parlour Pictures
We are delighted to offer this very rare set of "parlour images" by the highly collectable Raphael Tuck, dating to 1902-1910.
There are 2 large picture cards, 19 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches. They are made of several layers of high quality "card", are very strong & sturdy and have beveled edges. They are free standing.
Both have beautiful images of Mary and baby Jesus in Nativity scenes. The colours retain their warmth and depth.
The backs are as special as the fronts as each is decorated with an "illustrated hymn" and pretty angels scattering flowers. Both hymns are Christmas carols.
There are numerous small marks on both images. They are not perfect but at over 100 years old they are lovely.
At the bottom is "Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd, London, Paris, New York Publishers by Appointment to their Majesties The King and Queen Alexandra.."
...Not only a very rare find but they also are the perfect addition to a vintage Christmas or decorative display year round.
