"The Lullaby" Framed Print 1896

Wonderful antique print, printed on silk or possibly a cotton sateen. The original painting is by N. Prescott-Davies. This truly lovely print is from The Gentlewoman "magazine" and dates to around 1896.

The frame is so beautifully decorative with scrolls and swirls and a pretty soft gold coloured inner border.

The back has the original framers label although the rest of the backing paper has been removed.

The picture is charming, depicting 3 young women in gorgeous flowing pastel coloured gowns relaxing by a wall with yellow roses rambling over the top. The scene is opulent and luxuriant yet soft and gentle.

The frame measures 22 by 17 inches approximately.
